Palace Cafe was amazing! The andouille crusted white fish was probably my favorite dish during my trip. The bananas foster was worth trying, but I think I'm one and done with that dish. Service was stellar. It was also very nice to have a table on the second floor overlooking the street.

This is an upscale place, you can't tell too much from the outside but it's really nice on the inside with lots of tradition. It is located on Canal Street. The service is solid, and the ambiance is classy. We came for breakfast on our last day, and the food was good, no complaints.

Loved this place. The food was amazing and the atmosphere's romantic in the upper level. Great view to people watch on canal street. Highly recommend the crab cheese cake. The fish was out of this world!

The Palace cafe is one of the Brennan family restaurants. It is in a two story converted bank building on canal street. The ambiance is upscale casual and the feeling is vibrant in the large downstairs dining area. The upstairs dining is reached by elevator or a really ornate curving iron staircase. Impressive. We've had breakfast, lunch and several dinners there over the years. This visit we had dinner which included a bowl of Gumbo Yaya, Shrimp Tchefuncte over grits in a sauce that was excellent as was the Andouille Crusted Fish which was tender and lightly spiced in a great sauce too. For dessert we had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding which needed more white chocolate sauce and our polite and efficient server Bradley A quickly served us more sauce and it was very good. So, when in New Orleans try The Palace Cafe for any meal.

Great ambiance, so-so service, wonderful backdrop of jazz entertainment on the weekends for brunch. The GUMBO YAYA - house-made andouille, chicken, Louisiana popcorn rice was great. (Nice to have it poured at the table) The CAFÉ EGGS BENEDICT - slow roasted pork debris, buttermilk-cheddar biscuit, poached eggs, tasso, hollandaise sauce was actually amazing. Definitely worth a try, but I am not sure if this is a "go-to" place with so many other interesting options in NOLA.

We went during Mardi Gras weekend and it was so loud and busy we sat at the bar to grad a bite. We has two drinks that were both very good. I ordered the Little Birdie and I can't remember what the other drink was now, but yummmmmy. We had the Crabmeat Cheesecake and it was some of the best food I had in New Orleans. This restaurant is defiantly a great stop if you make it to the Big Easy. The staff was amazing and they did their best to take care of us even with the huge crowds of people.

One of four of the Dickie Brennan & Company Family of Restaurants, Palace Cafe was recommended by my local presenter at a conference I attended today. When she said her husband is a foodie my ears perked up. Glad I took her suggestions when she mentioned this is one her favorite places for gumbo. Beautiful old New Orleans style 2 story building with a cool curving staircase good for photos. All the food and drinks here were good but starred items were the stars for me and some of the best I had on this trip! They start all tables off with a little baguette served in a paper bag. Soft on the inside crunchy on the outside it's helps to mop up delicious soups and sauces. Gumbo Yaya- (andouille sausage, chicken, popcorn rice) went for this dish which was very good high end gumbo (not as thick as anticipated) ***Turtle soup- went for gumbo but left a turtle soup lover! Love how they blend the spices with lemon that gave it just the right tartness. Sherry added after to taste. I think the actual turtle was just small cubes of meat that tasted like chicken? ***crabmeat cheesecake - mushroom sauce, creole meunière sauce, Gulf crab claws. Like a seafood quiche atop a beautiful pecan crust. No cream cheese On my second visit in 3 nights I had one of the most delicious drinks *** Cafe Au Rhum #2. ($13) rum, framboise, Frangelico, cold brew coffee, xocolatl mole bitters Cousin had a Juke Joint Chopin vodka and blueberry liqueur- **Smoked Gulf Fish with fried plantain chips-reminded me of the smoked ahi spread in Hawaii that I love. This was a white fish ***Bananas Foster- fresh bananas, brown sugar, cinnamon, rum flambé, vanilla bean ice Cream . This signature dessert of the Brennan family, whose restaurant started it, comes served with a presentation and narrative that gives you the history of this banana flambé. If you come here you must get it!!! We were happy we were able to get one and share since we read there was a 2 order minimum 2 of the best meals I had in NOLA!
